There are nine provinces in total: Western Cape, Eastern Cape, ZwaZulu-Natal, Northern Cape, Free State, North West, Gauteng, Mpumalanga and Limpopo, with each having its own government. Often referred to as “The Smoke that Thunders,” Victoria Falls is formed by the Zambezi River plunging over a precipice, creating a spectacular curtain of water that spans approximately 1.7 kilometers (1.1 miles) in width and drops as much as 108 meters (355 feet) into a deep gorge below.

Known as South Africa’s most famous township, Soweto holds a special place in history as the former home of two Nobel Prize winners, Nelson Mandela and Desmond Tutu. It’s a living symbol of the New South Africa, a place that carries both the wounds of its Apartheid past and the vibrant promise of its future.
Our day in Soweto will be a powerful exploration led by a knowledgeable local BGTT tour guide. They will unveil the birthplace and the bedrock of the anti-apartheid struggle, revealing the rich historical significance that permeates every cultural site in the area.
In the afternoon, we’ll shift our focus to Johannesburg, and more specifically, the dynamic community of Maboneng. Here, we’ll take a tour of Foxx Street, one of the most famous streets in Maboneng. Our expedition will take us to all 16 viewpoints of the falls from the Zimbabwean side, offering a comprehensive and awe-inspiring perspective of this natural wonder. While there are three additional viewpoints on the Zambia side, it’s important to note that the absolute best views of Victoria Falls are on the Zimbabwean side.
Following our captivating tour of the falls, we’ll come together for a delightful lunch. For those seeking an extra thrill, many of you will have the opportunity to try activities like zip-lining and more, if you wish.
After lunch, we’ll return to our tranquil accommodations for some well-deserved rest and relaxation.
